This kit is suitable for baking at all altitudes.
Make your own hot cross buns. These yeasted buns are a traditional Easter treat in Britain. The soft buns are lightly spiced and filled with dried fruit. A paste shaped into a cross is laid on the top before baking to give them their distinctive look. Enjoy these buns on their own or toasted with lashings of butter.
Makes 1 dozen buns.
These buns are eaten to mark the end of Lent. They are thought to originate from St. Albans in England where in 1361, a monk developed a similar recipe called an Alban Bun, which he gave to the poor on Good Friday.
